I built Spider Siege as a classic tower defence game with a nasty twist: the spiders never stop coming.
**How it plays**
- Build walls, archer towers, ballistae, catapults, pitch pots and braziers
- Combine pitch and fire into huge blazes that wipe out whole swarms
- Pick rule cards on level-up that change how every run plays
- Face the Spider Queen and see how long your castle can hold
It runs right in your browser – no download, no sign-up. I made it with the help of AI, and I'm still tuning it, so feedback is very welcome!
How it was made
Turning my ideas into working code fast. A new tower or a rule card went from "what if…" to playable in minutes. It was also great at the trailer: music, sound and editing came together much quicker than I expected.
Balancing and "feel". AI can build a mechanic, but it can't tell whether it's fun. Bugs also crept back in when changes piled up, so I had to test a lot and be very precise about what I wanted.
The idea, the game design and all the balancing. I decided which towers exist, how pitch and fire combine, what the rule cards do and how hard the Spider Queen hits. I played it again and again, gave feedback and steered every change.
Start tiny: one enemy, one tower, one wave, then grow it step by step. Play your own game every day and describe exactly what feels wrong. The clearer your feedback, the better the AI gets.
Plan a proper ending or win screen from the start. Spider Siege is endless, which is fun, but a clear goal would make it easier to show off and talk about.
